RULES & REGULATIONS

  3. You must be a graduating McGill student in spring 2025
  4. You must have a valid McGill student identification number
  5. Maximum one entry per person
  6. All fields must be completed and valid for the entry to be accepted
  7. Draw will take place on July 3, 2025
  8. Winners will be notified by text or email by July 8, 2025
  9. Winners must meet all eligibility requirements

CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL ENTRIES

Eligibility:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN A PRIZE.
ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON WILL BE ACCEPTED.

The Contest is open to those who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Contestants must be a graduating McGill student in spring 2025. Graduating students must have a valid McGill student identification number. The Contest is not open to McGill University employees, nor any person involved in selecting the prize winners or with whom they are domiciled.

Organizer:

McGill University is the organizer of the McGill Graduation Giveaway contest.

How to enter the contest:

Entry forms can be completed online: alumni.mcgill.ca/giveaway. All fields on the entry form must be completed. Entry forms that contain false, misleading or inappropriate content may be disqualified.

Contest Deadline:

The deadline for entering the contest is 11:59 PM EDT on June 20, 2025. Entries received after that time will not be eligible to participate in the contest.

Draw:

Three (3) potential winners will be randomly selected from all eligible eforms received during the contest period on July 3, 2025, at 2 PM EDT. The odds of being randomly selected to win a prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period. The prizes (three in total) will be randomly drawn by computer. The draw will take place in Montreal, Province of Quebec. Within three (3) business days following the draw, each potential winner will be contacted via telephone or email according to the contact information provided on their entry form, and notified that they are eligible to win a prize. If the potential winners fail to respond to the prize notification within five (5) business days thereof, or does not comply with these official rules and regulations, the prize will be automatically forfeited and another potential winner will be selected by random draw. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and an alternate potential winner may be selected by random draw.

Prizes:

The grand prize is one (1) $500 Air Canada gift card and two (2) runner-up prizes each consisting of a $250 Apple gift card.

Date of the draw:

The draw will take place in Montreal, Province of Quebec and three (3) potential winners will be randomly selected on July 3, 2025, at 2 PM EDT.

Contacting the winners:

Within three (3) business days following the draw, each potential winner will be contacted via telephone or email according to the contact information provided on their entry form and notified that they’re eligible to win a prize.

Prize delivery information:

Prizes will be delivered to the winners by mail (to the mailing address provided when they are notified they have won a prize) or by email.

Skill testing question:

Before being declared a winner, a selected entrant must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question, administered by telephone, at a time mutually agreed by the entrant and McGill University.

Privacy Statement & Consent:

In compliance with the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (CQLR c A-2.1), any personal information that McGill University collects, including through a contest, will be handled in a confidential manner, by authorized staff, and for the purpose for which it was collected. McGill University will collect and maintain the information provided by contest entrants for the purpose of managing its relationship with alumni, including communications about University news, invitations, fundraising, and special offers available to alumni and friends of the University. McGill University will not disclose personal information to third parties, except as required by law or a court, or when having a third party perform services, in which case confidentiality clauses will ensure protection of personal information. By completing the entry form for the contest, an entrant consents to such use of their personal information.

Contest Dispute Resolution:

Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
