Mordecai Richler Pub Crawl (Faculty of Arts -- Social Work)

Tuesday, September 21, 2010
5:30 PM to 9 PM

Join us as we chase the ghost of one of Canada's most influential authors, Mordecai Richler.

During a fun-filled evening, you will visit two Crescent Street watering holes that were once among the favourite haunts of the writer who gave us classics like The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, St. Urbain's Horseman, and Barney's Version.

At each location, several guest speakers - including Gazette cartoonist Terry Mosher aka Aislin, Gazette columnist Bill Brownstein, Giller Prize founder Jack Rabinovitch, and the author's son Noah Richler - will share stories about the celebrated wordsmith.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the new Mordecai Richler Writer-in-Residence Program at McGill.

Storytelling will take place at:

Winnie's Bar, 1455 Crescent St.
Ziggy's Pub, 1470 Crescent St.

There are two ticket options:

$50 - "The Main": includes two drinks and one Schwartz's smoked meat dinner, served at Ziggy's Pub.

$150 - "The Uptown": includes two drinks and dinner at Le Mas des Oliviers (1216 Bishop Street), following the pub crawl.
