MAA Ottawa: Alumni Meet-up and Movie Night
Join McGill Alumni Association (MAA) of Ottawa for a special screening of the beloved French film Amélie as part of Ottawa Architecture Week (OAWFest 2025) at the iconic ByTowne Cinema. Before the movie, you're invited to join your fellow alumni for a casual meet-up at the nearby, Nelson Pub & Eatery.
This year's theme, Mapping the Market, explores how memory, identity, and placemaking intersect in Ottawa's historic ByWard Market. Through this lens, Amélie - a whimsical journey through Parisian streets and personal connections - offers a cinematic reflection on how everyday spaces shape who we are.
Evening Itinerary
Time: 5:00pm to 5:40pm
Location: The Nelson Pub & Eatery, 244 Laurier Ave E, Ottawa, ON K1N 6P4
Following the meet-up, we will head over to the ByTowne Cinema for the movie screening. Please note that the theatre is a 6 minutes drive, or 8 minutes walk, from The Nelson Pub.
Amélie Movie Screening
Time: 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Location: ByTowne Cinema, 325 Rideau St, Ottawa, ON K1N 5Y4
This event is free and open to all. Food and beverages are pay-as-you-go. The film will be in French with English subtitles. Arrive early to grab a good seat and enjoy an evening of storytelling and space.
