Join the MAA Ottawa Book Club for a quiet, meditative journey through Septology, the masterwork of Nobel Laureate Jon Fosse. Written in flowing, unbroken prose, this introspective novel explores the life of an aging painter as he reflects on identity, faith, and the passage of time.
Blurring the line between the sacred and the everyday, Fosse invites us into a rhythmic narrative that challenges conventional storytelling. Ideal for readers drawn to experimental literary fiction and open to a thoughtful discussion on solitude, duality, and the divine.
Registration for the in-person discussion is free. Food and beverages are pay-as-you-go.
Don't forget to bring ideas for our next book club pick! We look forward to seeing you there.
The MAA Ottawa Book Club is organized by the McGill Alumni Association of Ottawa, a dedicated volunteer organization that provides opportunities for alumni engagement through shared interests and supports alumni in staying connected to McGill. Former students of all ages and faculties are encouraged to participate in group sponsored activities and to get involved in ways that are meaningful to them.
