Feeding the Hungry Ghosts: Writing Nourishing Prose
Creative Writing Workshop (McGill Queer History Month 2023)
To write is to prepare a feast for your readers. In this creative writing workshop led by acclaimed author Nalo Hopkinson, we will discuss and practice ways of cultivating and satisfying the reader appetite.

About the speaker:

Nalo Hopkinson: She is a Jamaican-born Canadian speculative fiction writer and editor. She currently lives and teaches in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her novels (Brown Girl in the Ring, Midnight Robber, The Salt Roads, The New Moon's Arms) and short stories such as those in her collection Skin Folk often draw on Caribbean history and language, and its traditions of oral and written storytelling.

A multi award-winning author and artist, Nalo was the 2021 recipient of the Science Fiction Writers of America's prestigious Damon Knight Memorial "Grand Master" Award for a lifetime of achievements in writing, mentorship, and teaching.
