A. Jean de Grandpré Distinguished Lecture Series

Wednesday, September 7, 2022
7 PM to 8 PM EDT

The A. Jean de Grandpré Distinguished Speaker Series is named in honour of McGill's Chancellor Emeritus, the late M. de Grandpré who served as Chancellor from 1984-1991. He was a long-standing member of the Board of Governors. An astute and visionary administrator, he brought these skills, together with his wisdom, clarity of thought, and persuasive logic, to the highest levels of leadership at McGill University.

This year we welcome Raven Swamp, Turtle Clan of Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory, Greenhouse Facilitator at Karonhianónhnha Tsi Ionterihwaienstáhkhwa and the co-founder of the grassroots initiative the Kahnawà:ke Community Garden. She will be presenting her talk entitled "Building Community from Indigenous Food Security."

The presentation will be moderated by Professor Murray Humphries, Associate Professor, Department of Natural Resource Sciences, Director, Center for Indigenous Peoples' Nutrition and Environment (CINE).
