The McGill Alumni Association of Turkey invites you to a conversation with H. Serhan Süzer, BCom'99, a business leader and social entrepreneur based in Turkey who has founded a number of companies in the energy, fintech, and technology sectors.

Recently, the world has been experiencing disasters and serious issues mostly due to the climate crisis. In this session, Serhan Süzer will explain the problem and more importantly, what we need to do to reverse the effects of the climate crisis. Unlike many national bodies, Süzer does not see the solution to the climate crisis as a series of agenda items for a distant future but rather as an action plan for TODAY.

Following Süzer's speech, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in conversation. Ugurgül Tunç, BA'04,  President of the McGill Alumni Association of Turkey, will moderate the discussion.

OUR SPEAKER
A graduate of McGill University, in 2012 Süzer established Eko Renewable Energy Inc. (EkoRE), which specializes in solar PV, wind, and biogas, and currently serves as its CEO. He also founded the fintech company Moka Odeme Kurulusu A.S. in 2014 and made a successful exit in 2018. Süzer previously served as the CEO and Vice President of the Board of KFC and Pizza Hut Turkey, and as the asset manager of the Istanbul Ritz-Carlton Hotel. He also played an active role in managing Süzer Group's investment to establish a Coca Cola plant in Iraq. Süzer has been the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Costa Rica since 2008. In 2010, he initiated TIDER (Basic Needs Association), an umbrella organization for food banks in Turkey.
