Since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Library staff have been working tirelessly to find ways of "being there" for students without physically being on site, resulting in popular and innovative services like virtual reference, liaison librarian consultations, the McLennan-Redpath Terrace Pickup Service and, most recently, digitization-on-demand.

The Library's student focus is also at the heart of its exciting building project, Fiat Lux, which will address the evolving needs of 21st century students. It has long been the role of libraries to help uncover secrets and go above and beyond, finding new ways of conveying knowledge through technology and innovation. In keeping with this idea, Fiat Lux will be a Library of the future that activates the past. Physical spaces will be transformed to make room for the virtual, for exploration, and perhaps most importantly, for play.

Depuis toujours, les bibliothèques ont pour mission de percer les secrets, de transcender la réalité et de découvrir de nouveaux modes de transmission du savoir grâce à la technologie et à l'innovation. Aussi, Fiat Lux sera une bibliothèque de l'avenir qui donne vie au passé. Transformés, les lieux inviteront au virtuel et à l'exploration, mais surtout, au jeu.
