ONLINE: Homecoming: The New Vic - Creating an International Centre for Sustainability Sciences and Public Policy

Thursday, September 24, 2020
1:30 PM to 2:15 PM

The former Royal Victoria Hospital occupies a 35-acre site on the southern side of Mount Royal. Over the last year and a half, McGill has embarked on an exciting journey that will transform the Royal Vic into the New Vic - a $700M state-of-the-art facility that will allow us to reimagine how we teach, learn, collaborate and tackle global challenges.

The New Vic will feature two core research pillars: Sustainability Systems and Public Policy. These pillars will function as engines of discovery, addressing grand challenges such as climate change, sustainable urban development, and sustainable land use. The New Vic will also feature extensive space devoted to teaching and learning for McGill undergraduates, and will provide "collision" and collaboration space that recognizes that the 21st century academic experience requires opportunities for students, staff, and professors from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to interact on an ongoing basis.
