Los Angeles: The Future of Infectious Disease and Immunity

Sunday, November 24, 2019
5 PM to 7 PM PST

At this moment, rogue bacteria are raging through North American hospitals, making even routine surgeries high-risk. Could our own immune system hold the key to preventing an antibiotic apocalypse?

Alumni and friends are invited to join Zaib Shaikh, Consul General of Canada in Los Angeles, and Rick Levy, BA'89, Chair of the McGill Western US Advisory Board, for an exciting event with renowned expert Don Sheppard, Director of McGill's Interdisciplinary Initiative in Infection and Immunity (MI4), to learn how more than 250 McGill researchers are racing against time to save millions of lives, developing new ways to battle germs that are evolving faster than new antibiotics can be created. Come hear how the MI4 team is exploring the power of the immune system and other strategies that could deliver solutions to some of the deadliest global health crises facing humanity.
