McGill24: Calgary: Our Food Future

Wednesday, March 13, 2019
5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Since 2016, thousands of McGillians around the world have come together for McGill24, the University's annual day of giving. Our collective success is unparalleled: the largest Canadian fundraiser of its kind, McGill24 has raised more than $4 million in support of students, research and campus programs.

For the fourth edition of McGill24, the McGill Alumni Association of Calgary invites you to an exciting conversation about the future of food with the Honourable Ted Menzies, PC. Feeding the world will be a global challenge in the coming decades as populations rise, climates change and the economy shifts. Join us as we explore Alberta's role in keeping Canada fed.

Light refreshments will be served during the event.

About the speaker:

The Honourable Ted Menzies, PC has had a long career in agriculture, from grain production to development of agricultural and international trade policy. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Southern Alberta riding of Macleod in 2004. During his political career, he was Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade and appointed to the Queen's Privy Council of Canada as Minister of State for Finance. He retired from politics in 2013, and served as President and CEO of CropLife Canada before retiring in 2017. Ted mentors young people interested in the agri-food sector from his family farm in Clareholm, AB.
