McGill24: Muriel V. Roscoe Lecture: Catalyzing Change through Social Innovation: An Anishinaabe Perspective (McGill Women's Alumnae Association (MWAA))

Thursday, March 8, 2018
5:30 PM to 7:30 PM EST

The McGill Women's Alumnae Association invites you to a special lecture in honor of International Women's Week 2018 and #McGill24.

Join us for an inspiring evening with Melanie Goodchild, a Fellow at the Waterloo Institute for Social Innovation & Resilience. Hear her apply her "Anishinaabe sociological imagination" to understand the intellectual structures of innovation, complexity and resilience thinking.

Social innovation from an Anishinaabe perspective is grounded in sovereignty, resistance and Indigenous technologies. Melanie will speak about two-eyed seeing as a mindset and a skill that is needed to tackle urgent challenges in these complex times.

This evening is in association with the annual McGill Giving Day - #McGill24 - and will be an opportunity for the McGill Community to show why they are #McGillProud. We hope you feel inspired to make a gift to our Alumnae Society Scholarship fund at http://www.mcgill24.ca on March 14 or support the cause at the University that matters most to you.

Light refreshments served! Space is limited; register today!
