Mother's mental health vital to child's development.Untreated, maternal depression and anxiety disorders can have tragic and long-term consequences for both mother and child. Untreated, they affect a woman's ability to function, thrive and care for her child. Untreated, they affect her foetus' and child's long-term development, with long-lasting and detrimental physical, cognitive and emotional outcomes. Come, hear the science on the: Immediate and long-term impacts of untreated depression on new mothers; Links between a mother's depression and a child's risk of developing a mental illness later in life; Risk factors and screening: why early intervention is vital and which ones are backed by scientific research.
