High Education in Canada: What Does It Have to Offer?

Monday, April 11, 2016
12 PM to 2 PM

This is a joint McGill-CanCham Singapore event.

Canada has traditionally been perceived by some as a cold country located far away from Singapore. In truth, the nation has some of the best but very reasonably-priced universities in the world, located in cities that have been consistently ranked "most student friendly" globally. Through the case of McGill University, this presentation will highlight what a leading 21st century research-intensive university in Canada and its global alumni network could offer potential students and parents in Singapore.

Established in 1821 and located in Montreal, McGill University is one of the oldest public universities in North America and across the entire Commonwealth domain. For the past eleven consecutive years, McGill has been Canada's number 1 ranking research-intensive university (Doctoral-Medical category, Maclean's Magazine). It is also currently the world's highest ranking Canadian university according to the latest QS World University Rankings (top 20s globally).

The event's speaker is Mr. Marc Weinstein, Vice-Principal, University Advancement at McGill University. A native Montrealer and a proud McGill alumnus, Marc has a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill (1985), and both Civil Law (BCL) and Common Law (LLB) degrees from McGill (1991). He is a member of the Quebec Bar and sits on the Board of Directors of the MUHC Foundation, and is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), Commission on Philanthropy.
