Lectures are given by some of McGill’s most eminent and engaging academics, and topics range from jazz appreciation to the latest developments in sustainable energy.

You may register for one class within each series. There is no charge for tickets. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Mini-Med lecture series is one of McGill’s most popular outreach programs. In this special Homecoming edition, Dean of Medicine and
Vice-Principal, Health Affairs, Richard I. Levin will moderate a panel discussion featuring some of the University’s most distinguished cancer researchers. They will outline the critical discoveries taking place at McGill’s new state-of-the-art Life Sciences Complex. From investigations in disease to pharmaceutical applications, McGill is leading the way in translating research into better health and patient care.

The panel will feature Drs. Nicole Beauchemin, Gordon Shore and Michel L. Tremblay.

Nicole Beauchemin is a Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry, Medicine and Oncology and is on staff at the McGill Cancer Centre. Her current research examines the relationship between obesity and the development of colon cancer.

Gordon Shore, PhD’74, is a Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry and Oncology at McGill, as well as co-founder, director and chief scientific officer of Gemin X Pharmaceuticals, which specializes in the discovery and development of target-based novel cancer therapeutics.

Michel L. Tremblay is a James McGill Professor and Director of the McGill Cancer Centre. He also holds the Jeanne and J. Louis Lévesque Chair in Cancer Research at McGill and was recently made a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
