McGill UK Networking Dinner: Meet top industry professionals in an intimate setting (England alumni branch)

Have you ever wished you could sit down for dinner with an experienced professional in your field, to ask how things really work? The McGill Networking Dinners offer an exclusive way to connect with top experts in a given field for just nine members of the McGill UK Community, while dining at one of London's great restaurants. Our first Networking Dinner will focus on the theme of entrepreneurship and is aimed at mid-level career professionals with at least several years of experience. As a bonus, special guest Mark Weinstein, Vice-Principal of Development and Alumni Relations at McGill, will also participate.

HOST: Jesse Mosebye, BCom'09, President, McGill Alumni Association of the UK, is an Associate in Scotiabank's Global Prime Finance group and is responsible for European Capital Introduction. Since graduating from McGill, Jesse has earned a Master of Science in Finance from Copenhagen Business School.

- George Lengvari, BCL'66, Chairman, Lengvari Capital Ltd
Between 1968 and 1994 George Lengvari practised International Fiscal and Transactional Law in Montreal as a partner in the firm Lengvari Braman. From 1994 to 2009 he was Vice Chairman of Weider Health and Fitness, a Los Angeles-based holding company with operations in publishing, vitamins and nutrition as well as fitness equipment and is now Chairman of Weider Health and Fitness Limited (London). He was the Vice Chairman of Schiff Nutrition International, a NYSE listed company until its sale in 2012.

He is also the founder of an international licensing group, Chairman of Lengvari Capital Limited, a private equity investment company, and director of the Montreal Economic Institute, a free market Think Tank based in Montreal. George has served since 2007 as a director of the Dundee Merchant Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dundee Corporation, a Canadian Public Asset Management Company. He also holds directorships with several charitable organisations.

George will be accompanied by his associate Terry Tretiak, BA'94, who holds an MBA from Écoles des Hautes Études Commerciales and who has been Vice-President of his international licensing business, Intaura Limited, since 1999. As VP, Terry is responsible for the growth of all licensing activities, including business development and client relations. He monitors all agreements to ensure compliance by partners and Intaura, and manages the company's international intellectual property portfolio, including prosecution, defense and registration of IP.

- Willie Heller, BCom'78, CEO and a founder of Falck Renewables Limited, a London-based wind power development business. Falck Renewables Limited is active in the UK, Italy, Spain and France through a series of partnerships and joint ventures with local developers.

Willie was previously the Chief Executive of Edison Mission Energy, one of the world's largest independent power producers. Prior to that Willie was President of Edison Mission Energy, Europe. From 1982 to 1995, he was a consultant with McKinsey and Company's Energy Practice in Houston, London and Los Angeles.

SPECIAL GUEST: Marc Weinstein, BA'85, BCL'91, LLB'91, Vice-Principal, Development and Alumni Relations at McGill, where he spearheaded the University's recently concluded History in the Making campaign which raised a remarkable $1.026 billion. Marc's portfolio includes fundraising activities and donor relations, as well as the broad dossier of alumni relations.

Marc joined McGill in 2005, after playing a key role in planning and implementing the $300-million Best Care for Life campaign at the McGill University Health Centre Foundation, where he served as Vice-President and General Counsel. Before that, he organized a successful $50-million capital campaign for the Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.

As well as degrees in Arts and Law from McGill, Marc has a Master of Arts degree from York University in Toronto.

Note: The National Gallery closes at 6:00 pm and access to the National Cafe will be allowed only from the entrance in St. Martin's Lane.

2. A question that you'd like to ask one of our expert guests.
3. The reason you'd like to attend.

The price of £35 per person covers the cost of the meal, including tip and taxes, as well as cocktails and wine.

Please note that participants' names and job titles will be shared with guests prior to the dinner.

What Next?
We will process your request and confirm your invitation on a first-come, first-served basis. Because there are only nine seats available, don't delay! Participants will be selected with the objective of maximizing the learning and mentoring value of the McGill Networking Dinner for all participants. When we confirm your registration, we will send you a link to pay online, allowing you five business days to complete your registration.
