An Evening With Author Charles Eisenstein: Money, Gift & Society In The Age Of Transition - SOLD OUT

Thursday, February 28, 2013
4 PM to 6 PM

Please join us as author Charles Eisenstein walks us through the history of money from ancient gift economies to modern capitalism, and shares his views on how Sacred Economics can liberate us from our own shackles and help us break away from the endless struggle to grow and grow.

Sacred Economics reveals how the money system has contributed to alienation and scarcity, destroyed community and necessitated endless growth. As we near the collapse of the current system, we may find great opportunity to transition to a more connected, ecological and sustainable way of being.

Sacred Economics is about how our money system will have to change to embody this transition. A broadly integrated synthesis of theory, policy and practice, Sacred Economics explores avant-garde concepts of the New Economics, including negative-interest currencies, local currencies, gift economies and the restoration of the commons.

The transition is also happening on a personal level. We know we are here for a purpose, and we feel compelled to act on that. We also feel compelled to contribute our gifts towards the well-being and evolution of all. But how can we align with and contribute to society's metamorphosis?
