Details

McGill University has been making history since its founding 187 years ago. In that span, the University has undergone a remarkable transformation from a small college in Montreal to an internationally renowned centre of learning and research, thanks to the performance of exceptional students, the contributions of outstanding faculty, and the support and loyalty of alumni and friends worldwide.

Nigel Roulet, a James McGill Professor of Geography, is Director of the innovative McGill School of Environment that brings together more than 100 researchers from four faculties to teach and find solutions to today’s environmental challenges. His own research, which he conducts in North America and Europe, focuses on wetland and forest ecosystems.

Brian Ward received medical and research training at McGill, Oxford, Johns Hopkins and the University of London. His research interests include vaccine development and evaluation, novel approaches to diagnosis and treatment of parasitic disease such as malaria and sleeping sickness, and factors that influence HIV transmission. Dr. Ward is Associate Director of the McGill University Health Centre Research Institute and the Centre for Tropical Diseases, and he is Director of the National Reference Centre for Parasitology.
